25 March 2013 - New Jackson Hole Route
As part of our new partnership with Linx, we are starting a new summer
fixed route beginning June 4th between the Riverton/Lander area and
Jackson's Hole. The new route will run Wed/Fri/Sun, and will take
passengers to Jackson in the morning, and back in the afternoon. Once
there, people can enjoy a few hours of shopping/touring in Jackson, or they
can catch one of the other Linx routes to continue up into Yellowstone Park.
We hope that this new route will help visitors and residents of Fremont
county more easily enjoy the natural beauty of the park, as well as opening
up our attractions to weekend visitors from the Jackson area.

With the increased fuel prices across the nation, WRTA is forced to raise
the cost of some of our less-used shuttle services in order to meet
expenses. Rest assured that the fixed route remains at $1/ride (or $25 for a
monthly pass), and Lander and Casper prices will also remain the same,

The last day of Summer service will be August 31st. Our regular Fall
Schedule will resume September 4th (no service on Sept 3rd due to Labor
Day). Thank you all for your support during our trial with the expanded
Summer service, and we hope to see you all next summer!

The Summer Fixed Route has had an unexpectedly low ridership for the last
two months, and we'd like to find out how we can do a better job of serving
you! Please let us know on the comment page, give us a call at 856-7118, or
fill out our online survey. We're always ready to learn and improve!

We will be starting our new summer schedule next week!
We've added some additional routes, so that we will be running between
Riverton, Lander, Ft Washakie, and Ethete four times per day. The new route
also includes many more stops in Riverton, to make commuting and
shopping easier.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of some brand-new buses in
Fremont County. We are replacing 75% of our fleet with upgraded models
that feature 10% more seating per bus, as well as complying with all the
latest federal regulations regarding safety and emissions control.

Wind River Transportation Authority offers a variety of
services in and around Fremont County and Central Wyoming.
This includes fixed bus routes (Inter- and intra-city within
Fremont County), airport shuttles, and special group
excursions.
Our Fixed Routes offer morning and afternoon bus service for
commuting to jobs, schools and Central Wyoming College.
We also offer Deviated Route service on our Fixed Routes. Our
drivers can divert up to 2 blocks off of their regular route to
pick up or drop off a passenger who is unable to travel to the
bus stop. This service does cost an extra dollar (bringing the
total fare to $2), and must be arranged in advance by calling
856-7118. Drivers do not have the authority to deviate routes
themselves.
NOTE: By riding the bus, you are agreeing to our Rider's Code of
Conduct.
NOTE: Reservations are required for all non-Fixed Routes. If you
need to cancel a reservation, it must be done at least 24 hrs prior
to the pickup, and a $25 cancellation fee will apply.
